The Caribbean is a hot vacation spot with most tourists visiting the Greater Antilles: Cuba Hispaniola (Haiti/Dominican Republic), Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Navassa Island, and the fabulous Cayman Islands. But the Lesser Antilles offers many underrated travel destinations that are less crowded than its neighbors to the west, that are equally beautiful and interesting. Check out some of the top picks:


Montserrat

Highlights: Known as the “Emerald Isle of the Caribbean,” Montserrat boasts lush landscapes, the active Soufrière Hills Volcano, and the partially buried city of Plymouth.

Activities: Hiking, exploring volcanic landscapes, snorkeling, and visiting the Montserrat Volcano Observatory.


Saba

Highlights: Often referred to as the “Unspoiled Queen,” Saba is known for its rugged terrain, clear waters, and unique diving spots.

Activities: Diving at the Saba Marine Park, hiking to the top of Mount Scenery, and exploring charming villages.


Dominica

Highlights: Nicknamed the “Nature Island,” Dominica is famous for its unspoiled natural beauty, including rainforests, hot springs, and the Boiling Lake.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
